[Sheflug] Linux Tyro

Craig,

Thanks for your spot-on help with the laptop (It's working well now), can
you possibly help with another problem I'm unable to solve.

My server has two network cards, eth0 is a RealTek RTL -8029(AS) Ne2000
clone that uses the Ne2k-pci module and is connected directly (with a
crossover cable) to a w2k box that is acting as a router. The w2k box also
acts as a DHCP server (just to eth0). The IP of the router is
192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0 and it usually issues 192.168.0.45 to the server.

The second card (eth1) is a National Semiconductor DP83815 card that uses
the natsemi module and is connected to the rest of the network via the hub.
The rest of the network is a mixture of windows and Linux boxes, eth1 has a
fixed IP address of 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0.

I have this configuration because it most closely matches the final
configuration the server will be in when it is installed in the schools'
network.

The connection to the router works well, however, I can't ping the server at
IP 192.168.1.1 from the rest of the network.

I am as sure as I can be that the card is correctly installed (YasT says it
is correctly installed and the green light on the card and on the hub both
work)

The card itself is OK, I have had this configuration working with RedHat and
E-Smith but I can't get it working with SuSE 7.3.

I've spent 2 days on this one - the frustration level is growing!

Any help will be much appreciated.

Alistair
