Hi Alex,

Just to add to the confusion (well I'm confused). I have installed a 3 Com 
NIC into the server, it is a supported card - but the effect is still the 
same!

But - whilst idling away the afternoon, I built another machine from bits 
lying around my workshop (only a P 120 and 64MB RAM). I installed the FA311 
card - and Hey Presto - it happily pings the whole network ( except the 
server of course).

I guess that means there is a hardware conflict somewhere - but where?

I know what I'm going to be doing tomorrow!
