RE: [Sheflug] Re: Linux Tyro

Hi Richard,

I have now stripped out the machine to just one card 0 a RealTek 8029 combi
card.

I have reloaded SuSE 7.3 from scratch, the card has been detected and
configured. I have a static IP address of 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0. I can
ping localhost OK. But I can't ping into or out of machine. All the other
machines on the network can ping each other OK (including my laptop - with
SuSE 7.3 running). I have also connected two machines directly with a
crossover cable - still no joy.

All of the cards work fine with other flavours of Linux (and of course,
windows).

I have trawled all the knowledge databases I can find - I have also spent
£30 on 'The SuSE Linux Network', but so far nothing has enlightened me?

Cheers,

Alistair
