[Sheflug] Broken Window Manager
Can anyone help me ?
I'm running Mandrake 8.0 and decided I wanted KDE 2.2.1 from the Mandrake 8.1 rpms. I've downloaded just about everything I can think of to satisify all the dependencies that I needed and Installed it without any problems.
However now when I start XWindows kdm starts fine, but I can't log into any Window manager at all (even Gnome and ICEWM, which I haven't touched) I get the an error in my .xsession-errors file saying it can't fine xsm which I can fix by hard coding its path in my .xinitrc but then I just get more messages of not being able to find twm and so on. All these programs reside in /usr/X11R6/bin which is in my path, but is there anywhere else I need to set them up ?
Any ideas or pointers as to where I'm going wrong (or if I should have just brought Mandrake 8.1 insted of trying to mash the two together) would be most apprecated.
Thanks
Alan
