Re: [Sheflug] Re: Suggestions of distro?

ive got mandrake up and running at the moment, but i know its not secure and
not exaclty what im looking for... ive been looking at debian and
openbsd/freebsd but they all seem to be very command line driven . unless
someone throws me straight into KDE im pretty much out in the cold, and even
worse if there's no graphical and easy install program. i notice you're
recommmending BSD but does it have an easy install routine and will it put
me into KDE or some other WM at start up and be fully configured? id like to
run openBSD or such , as the tutorials on setting up a firewall are fairly
good on www.bsdtoday.com , but they all involve editing files which i would
be at a loss with in the world of command lines.

ive also been looking at red hat, but i seem to rememeber ppl on here
slagging it off - though im not sure why?

at the moment im also downloading peanut linux - very user friendly and
pretty looking and i should be able to secure everything once i have basics
running......but im sure its gonna be bad for me... as anyone here will
probabaly tell me if theyve used it.

thanks loads for helping newbie fools like me
james
