Yes, I thought IBM was open source rather than free software... 
Seeing IBM acknowledge FSF is quite an achievement.

Which brings me to another observation: While RMS is devoted to the 
idea of free software, he is not so keen on 'open development': "... 
after the next release of Emacs we will consider using open 
development model... " which implies that Emacs current is using a 
closed development model.
