If it's time you lack, try Python.  Python is like Christianity: just
repent, confess your faith, and you're in.  Perl is more like
Buddhism: after many years of meditation and frustration of the body,
you achieve enlightenment---at which point ordinary mortals no longer
have any idea what you're talking about.
