There you have a main problem, Cyrix are THE worst at floating 
point calculations, they are the slowest chip you can get, I equated 
my Cyrix 200 at the Intel P90 for speed, and even then the Intel 
chip was that bit faster.

I don't know about that particular Sound card, but I remember 
reading about a sound card that slowed down the system, but if it 
is yours or not, I couldn't say.

Are you using Xmms for playing? I found that one to be the best for 
MP3 playing - its a Winamp clone  :-)
