Ive looked at some news archives.
At http://www.internetnews.com/isp-
news/article/0,1087,8_171101,00.html dated July 29, 1999.
"British Telecom, through its Internet & Multimedia Services division
(IMS), plans to launch an interactive content service for consumers
over ADSL, the new high speed digital service also announced this
week.
BT's offering will consist of high-speed Internet access, enhanced
Internet applications and what it calls "a compelling range of
content services." The whole package will become available from
March 2000. "
hey! thats tommorrow. Horaah, lets go and get it. Thw whole
package. To be honest, I cant see BT using a form of DSL where
upstream is fast incase people start using the internet to
communicate unmeterd as they would with voice. It surely wouldnt
be that hard to set up with the power computers have. Record from
mic, mp3, send down line. It might not be instant, but it could do
the job, especially if its not costing that much more. Or am I being
insane? Maybe. But to be fair, not as insane as BT's attitude to the
Net.
As a friend said of Bill Gates. "He's a capitalist with a monopoly,
what do you expect him to do?"
