To be honest, 90% of LI problems come from this. At least, 90% of *my* LI
problems have come from this!! Maybe I just spend too long 'optimising' my
BIOS ;)) I always mess something up in there..

You'll need to setup NFS to do this, which isn't especially easy, but not
necessarily tough. The HOWTO is fairly good, although not magical, and
probably something you ought to read fairly fully..
