Blasted device! Problems with UPS.

 Howdy y`all.

 I`ve recently acquired a APC Back-UPS Pro 1400, and I`m trying to get
it working with apcupsd.

 It doesn`t like that idea.

 I`ve got the UPS connected to my box via APC`s 940-0024C cable on tty1.

 The UPS needs to take over the serial port - I`ve got the modem on tty0
- but do I have to do anything to allow apcupsd to access tty1 (i.e.
tell it not to be a modem control line)?

 As far as I can see, there isn`t much else to get wrong.
