did you get the local delivery sorted. If not, try this:

in .fetchmailrc, add this for your ISP

poll <your.isp.popserver> with proto POP3
	user "<yourusername>" there with password "<yourpassword>" is <your
local username> here warnings 3600

This works fine for me, and allows me to download mail for everyone on
the system, if I so desire.

Also, for an easier (sic) way of doing this, try using 'fetchmailconf'
in X. It's dead easy, honest.
