Ruediger,
I would be willing to have a go if you need another tester...
I have been using Linux since version 0.99 in an SLS distribution (Soft
Landing System distribution - about 6 years ago). I have used, in the
past, SLS, Slackware, RedHat and am currently using Mandrake 7.0. I run
Linux on 5 machines in a network at home (shared NFS volumes,
ypserv/ypbind NIS, IP Masquerade firewall dialup internet connection,
StarOffice, Applix, Netscape, etc) and on 3 machines at work (desktop,
file server/mail server for Mac systems, nuclear medicine and CT image
transfer system). I also remotely administer a system for an ISP in
France (RedHat). I suppose I would classify myself as an expert
amateur!?
Programming is currently confined to perl and bash scripts for system
admin, simple web pages (see the sheflug mail archive) and database.
access but I know pascal, forth, basic and some C.
Only unfortunate problem is that I will be tied up in foreign climes
for the next three weeks but after that I will have time to play again.
I have a working knowledge of Dutch, French and German (roughly in that
order)
